Biden vs. Palin Debate – Who is not to be underestimated?

Despite this impressive look at Biden in Congress, I am forecasting that Palin as McCain’s VP pick will prove to be the make or break for the GOP party in the coming election.
(Thanks Emily for the Youtube find.)
Biden may be energetic, knowledgeable and passionate but in terms of public perception, there’s no more dangerous scenario to be caught in, than a debate with an opponent who simply not perform as badly as everyone expects.
Gore was expected to decimate Bush in the 1st 2000 presidential debate, but Bush held his own, kept it simple and while not advancing his position, was never forced to retreat from it. Cheney didn’t come off nearly as evil, ogre-ish or out of touch as Edwards thought likely as the time. I’m sure that while the Obama and McCain debates ahead will be engaging, it will be the Palin vs. Biden debate that captures the nation’s attention. If Palin does well then, I fear Obama will have a very steep road until November.
